The course in BIOLOGY offers students three-year first cycle  studies (bachelor) and two-year second cycle studies (master).

At the end of the second year of first cycle of full- time studies a student chooses one of five bachelor specializations: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Experimental Biology, environmental Biology or Genetics.

Second cycle studies offer four specializations for full-time students: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Medical Biophysics and Bioinformatics, Experimental Biology and Environmental Biology; one specialization for part-time evening students: Applied and Molecular Biology; two specializations for extramural students: Applied and Molecular Biology and Environmental Biology.

The first cycle course in BIOLOGY offers nature teacher specialization on full-time, part-time and extramural studies. The education program complies with the latest Ordinance of the Minister of Science and Higher Education regarding the educational standards for professional teachers (17.Feb. 2012).   Graduates of teacher specialization will be granted right to teach nature in primary schools, and after completing the second cycle studies and training in biology didactic, to teach biology in the other school types.

The course in BIOLOGY is based on European Credit Transfer System(ECTS) which means that each subject is ascribed a certain number of points . This gives the possibility to continue studies at other universities also abroad.

Detailed information regarding enrolment procedures for  University of Łódź can be found at iso.uni.lodz.pl
